This is a soy product high in protein. It is dehydrated and in most recipes that call for TVP you will need to rehydrate the flakes. So if you want to use 1/2 TVP, just add 1/2 very hot water and let stand for about 10 or 15 minutes until hydrated. We use the dehydrated flakes in recipes straight from the bag for cooking where there is a lot of sauce.
TVP can be used 1/2 and 1/2 with any kind of meat, or all by itself as a vegetable sauce, you just may need more spices. Great for turkey burgers, hamburgers, pasta sauces, etc.
Per 1/4 cup serving: 0 g fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 2 mg sodium, Total Carbs 7 g, fibre 4 g, sugars, 3 g, protein 12 g. Also contains iron, magnesium, phosphorus, Vitamin A, Vitamin C and calcium.
You can find it in the health food sections of large grocery stores. The product pictured really has no taste, you need to add spices to make any flavor.ÂÂ

I picked up this product after reading the nutrition facts: Per 100 g (or 1/6 package) there are 120 calories, 1 g fat, 300 mg sodium (not bad), fibers 4 g, sugars 11g, protein 14 g.
This is a really good product – if you are looking for a quick meal (microwave or boil-in-bag for10 minutes) or easy meal (bake in oven for 40 minutes) GREAT Tasting, so easy to prepare. The cost was $9.99 and made about 10 – 1/4 inch slices about 6 inches long with a wonderful apple sauce. Make sure to squeeze all of the sauce out of the bag and cook with the meat.

I like to add this to my water on those days when i just don’t feel like drinking all I’m supposed to. I find I only need 1 pkg of the mandarin mango per litre of water and it tastes great. The other flavors, 1 pkg to 500 ml of water works for me.
You can find this product at Wallmart, or superstore. I’m not sure about Sobeys.

I think these bars are great when you need that extra protein or when you are looking for something just to get you to your next meal. These even satisfy that sweet tooth and are low carb.
The only place that I’ve been able to find these bars is at the superstore.
